VCE Region in Second Life Closes

The OpenVCE.net project region in Second Life – “VCE” – is now closed… and the final archiving of its contents has taken place and some snapshots in the sunset taken…

The main I-Rooms and other collaboration facilities are still available on other Virtual University of Edinburgh regions in Second Life especially on “Vue” and “Edinburgh University”.

A complete copy of the OpenVCE collaboration region is also available with an open source licence via an OpenSim Archive (OAR) file which can easily be recreated on any OpenSim region. Such facilities are available on the Openvue grid, OSGrid, the US government MOSES grid and are a selectable startup island layout option on other hosted OpenSim grids such as Kitely and New World Grid.
