Examination Feedback

The Inf1-DA exam was held on Monday 29 April 2013, with around two hundred scripts submitted for marking. I’ve written a feedback report on this that includes all the questions, descriptions of solutions, and notes on the range of answers submitted by students on the day.

Many people did well on this, putting in really good work — congratulations:

Overall grades in this exam were very high, with a large number of excellent answers to individual questions. For every part of the paper, there were examples of crisp, clear, and correct solutions, well set out and easy to understand.

If you want to look at your own exam scripts, then please contact the ITO. You’ll need to say which exams you want to see, and arrange a date to view them there. You won’t be able to take these away, so remember to take a pen and paper for notes. (Or a pencil, tablet, laptop, etc.)

Individual scripts don’t have much detailed feedback on them, but you will be able to see your mark on each question which can help in working out which areas of the course you might wish to review.

Resit Examination

There will be a resit exam in August. Please check the course website for more information about the timetable for this.

If you will be resitting the exam, then remember that the questions from April are one thing that definitely won’t appear in August. Do use your performance on the last exam as a guide for areas to revise and prepare, but then study the material of the course itself through lecture slides, your own notes, textbooks, further past papers, or other resources.

The School of Informatics is arranging revision tutorials for students sitting the resit exam. If you want to attend then you must book a place online.
