To work properly the LCFG client really needs the lcfg user and group to exist on the system. With a fully managed system we achieve this by using the LCFG auth component. On a “lightweight” system or one to which we are in the early stages of porting we need another approach. To solve this bootstrapping issue I’ve dealt with bug#252 by adding a pre-install script which will add the necessary user and group if they do not already exist.
