Black Rock Laboratory in OpenSim

The Black Rock region in OSGrid now has the mesh models of Supercar and the Black Rock Laboratory interior and exterior, along with some miscellaneous other 3D objects all uploaded as tests of the Collada mesh import facilities in OpenSim (and Second Life).

Polygon and vertex counts for the three core models on the Black:

  • Supercar: 178,595 polygons, 122,901 vertices
  • Black Rock Lab Interior: 633,908 polygons, 776,925 vertices
  • Black Rock Lab Exterior: 95,132 polygons, 48,724 vertices
  • Total: 907,635 polygons, 837,940 vertices

And the Supercar model from 1998 has translated well via the Collada export from the original 3D mesh versions…
