High Fidelity Alpha Tests – Currency and Economy

[At 6th June 2014: This blog post is private and created for future visibility. It will only be opened once the alpha test phase is passed.]

Credits are available in HiFi (High Fidelity) as a currency that can be exchanged between users. The main way that credits are earned initially is through providing server resources (via the Qt Assignment Server) that can be used by others. This is a core part of the scalable architecture approach of HiFi.

On 5th June 2014 I received my first “Credit” transfer in HiFi. This is done via the https://data.highfidelity.io server. When logged in you can see your “Wallet” and its credits balance. The user/avatar UUID is used as the source and destination for credit transfers, and a transfer can be done via a button on this web page. Thanks to fellow alpha tester @MarcelEdward.
