February is LGBT History Month

Rainbow flag symbolizing and celebrating gay rights and freedom of expression.

LGBT History Month is an opportunity to celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) lives and culture, and to recognise the significant contribution LGBT people have made to the world.

Edinburgh University Students’ Association is offering a programme of events, from panel discussions to film screenings and a Valentine’s Day party.

Informatics’ LGBT ally Carol Dow and fellow ally Rebecca have organised a ‘coffee morning’, 10.30-11.30am Thursday 9 February 2017, for anyone who would like to know what being an LGBT ally is all about. Just head along to the basement cafe at 50 George Square for cake, a chat and a leaflet.

Outwith the University, LGBT History Month events are brought together in a website co-ordinated by LGBT Youth Scotland.
