University of Southampton

The University of Southampton is a leading centre of excellence in the study of electronics, electrical engineering, computer science and information technology. The University of Southampton is a member of the UK’s Russell Group of research-intensive universities.

Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Southampton has a worldwide reputation for its education, research and enterprise. Three members of ECS were named by The Times newspaper as among the 100 leading scientists in the UK, including Professor Sir Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World-Wide Web, Professor Dame Wendy Hall, the first person outside the US to lead the Association for Computing Machinery, and Professor David Payne who has been a pioneer in the field of optical fibre technology.
